MCI Organizes a Forum for Intellectual Property and Displays the Efforts for Controlling Fraud and Trademarks Protection

​Hold Lectures and a Panel Discussion about the Importance of Trademarks Registration for the Commercial Institutions
 
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is going to participate in organizing the Forum of the Third Saudi Intellectual Property. The activities, which will last for three days, will start today, Tuesday 22/06/1435 AH, corresponding to 22/04/2014 AD at King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology. The Forum coincides with the celebration activities of the World Day of Intellectual Property which falls on April 26 every year.
 
Besides the MCI, the Forum is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Public Customs Department and King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology.
 
During the forum, which bears the title "The Intellectual Property Rights and their Enforcement”  MCI will focus on several important topics related to the intellectual property rights and their enforcement and the trademarks in light of the Terps Convention, offered by specialized people in this field and some officials from the Ministry. The topics to be discussed in particular include trademarks and their registration and protection, as one of the important topics in the field of intellectual property. A panel discussion will be held on small and medium enterprises, and how far do they benefit from the brands, and their importance to those institutions.
 
Through the exhibition accompanied to this occasion, MCI will display its efforts in controlling the counterfeit brands after giving full definition in that regard, as well as the ways to protect the registered trademarks.
 
MCI will hold a workshop offered by an international specialist on " Franchise "  and sessions discussing the brands and how to protect them through discussing "The Importance of Trademark Registration " and " The Protection of Trademarks".
