The inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce carried out 258 inspection tours in Qatif Governorate on Friday, 20.03.2020, to verify the availability of goods and food stock, also to monitor any exaggeration in the prices, as well as to respond to the consumers complaints. Meanwhile, necessary actions have been taken and legal penalties have been imposed against the violators.
The Ministry’s inspection tours included Qatif, Saihat, Anak, Safwa, and their affiliate suburbs and villages, such as Al-Qudaih, Al-Awamiya, Al-Bahari, Umm Al-Sahik, Umm Al-Hamam, Abu Ma’an, Al-Awjam, Al-Jish, Al-Khuwaildiyah, Al-Jaroudiya, Hillat Mahesh, Al-Tobi, Al-Mallaha, Al-Nabiyah, in addition to the island of Tarot and its affiliate villages, Daren, Sanabis, Rabia’a, Limited Income area, Al-Atrash Group, Deira, Al-Zour.
The aim of the Ministry of Commerce tours is to intensify the control and inspection on commodities, food products, consumables warehouses and outlets, as well as meat and vegetable stores, bakeries and fuel stations.
The Ministry’s inspectors confirmed the availability of the necessary food supplies and commodities, assuring as well that there is sufficient food stock to meet the market need, besides price stability.
The Ministry of Commerce calls on all the consumers to report and lodge their complaints against the violating establishments and outlets through the Ministry’s Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry's official website.
