MCI Inspection Teams Captured Illegal Labors Engaged in Refilling Adulterated Used Oil and Seized Sum of Money, Checks and Documents Bearing a Suspicion of Commercial Concealment

​MCI Inspectors has captured illegal labors, engaged in collecting, storing and refilling adulterated used oil at a rest house in Al-Sulai quarter, east of Riyadh. Upon raiding the unlicensed site, the Ministry's inspectors monitored the labors, involved in storing 240,000 liters of used oil inside three containers, to be refilled and distributed to the markets, claiming and deceiving the consumers that they are brand new.
 
Meanwhile, MCI Inspectors also seized a number of evidence and documents indicating that this site is managed by the illegal labors. The seizures included sum of money amounting to SR 200 thousand riyals, checks, ATM cards, stamps and some documents bearing a suspicion of commercial concealment.
 
Consequently, MCI closed the violating site in cooperation with the joint security campaigns and the Secretariat of Riyadh Region. Those responsible were summoned up to take their statements, and the illegal labors were handed over to the security authorities to complete the legal procedures, then the case to be referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution, after that to be referred to the Bureau of Grievances for taking the final verdict.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Commerce and Investment has been detecting many cases under the Anti-Commercial Concealment Law. The Ministry had already imposed the legal penalties against the violators, which may reach to two years' imprisonment and a fine of one million riyals, for each violator, besides deporting the non-Saudis from the Kingdom, as well as closing and liquidating the commercial activity, also writing off the Commercial Registration, further more preventing practicing the same activity for five years, in addition to the defamation of the names of violators periodically in the local newspapers, at their own expense.
 
MCI calls on all consumers and the public to cooperate and report any violations, related to Anti-Commercial Concealment Law, through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900) or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, via their smart phone.
