All Consumers are Requested to Communicate with the Companies and Agents to Get Back the Value of their Appliances or Get Replacement
The Ministry of Commerce and Investment has announced recalling more than 70,000 electrical appliances during 1440, including (air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines) for different models because they did not conform with the standard specifications of the Energy Efficiency. Thus increasing the electrical consumption more than the level mentioned in the Energy Efficiency Label affixed to the appliances, thereby increasing the value of electricity bills to be paid by the consumers.
The Ministry calls on all consumers, who are using electrical appliances, included in the recalling list, to verify the serial number of the product through the website of the Center of Recalling Non-Conforming Products, then communicate with the companies and agents to withdraw the product and refund the amount in cash or replace it with another one, conforming to the approved standard specifications. This is to ensure using efficient energy saving appliances, which would be reflected positively on the consumers.
MCI has pointed out that all recalling products have been advertised through the website of the Center for Recalling Defective Products (https://recalls.sa), in addition to the accounts of the Ministry on social networking sites, besides publishing the ad in local newspapers and in various media.
This step comes within the framework of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization and the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency, and in coordination and cooperation with the Saudi Energy Efficiency Program, which endeavors to recall products that are not conforming to the standards of energy efficiency, besides making the consumers aware about the optimal use of the electrical appliances, so that to reduce waste of energy and to rationalize the consumption of electricity.
The Ministry of Commerce and Investment urges all consumers to access the website of the Center for Recalling Defective products (Recall) via: https://recalls.sa, which enables the consumer to search and identify the non-conforming appliances, and which are subject to recalling campaigns, besides offering the contact numbers of companies and agents, and displaying the latest products recalled, with their serial numbers.
