The Ministry of Commerce and Investment has published a ruling issued by the Administrative Court in Riyadh, imposing penalties on a commercial Establishment in Zulfi province, involved in violating the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, following the announcement of sales without obtaining the necessary license.
The concerned court issued a judgment imposing a fine, and to publish the ruling in two local newspapers at the expense of the establishment.
The details go back when MCI inspectors monitored a commercial Est. in Zulfi offering sales without obtaining the necessary license. Consequently, the case was referred to the concerned authorities for taking the legal procedures.
Notably, MCI has provided e-service for getting sales license for all commercial establishments. This is part of the Ministry’s concern and interest to verify the reality of sales, and to eradicate any manipulation or misleading towards the consumers, as well as to eliminate any false promotions or sales.
MCI would like to confirm the continuation of addressing and confronting those involved in violating the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, and to take all necessary stern measures against them to protect the consumers against any manipulation, cheating and counterfeiting.
MCI calls on all consumers to lodge their complaints through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900) or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or through the Ministry's website.
