MCI Detected a Factory in Jeddah Counterfeiting the Country of Origin for spoiled and Corrupted foodstuffs with the phrase " Made in Turkey "

​More than 4 thousand Food Commodities were Seized before they were Marketed and Sold to Consumers
 
The field inspection rounds of MCI had detected one factory in Jeddah counterfeiting the country of origin of large quantities of foodstuffs through putting a poster bearing the phrase " Made in Turkey "on products manufactured on the roofs of one room of the factory, the Control Teams found a set of counterfeit prints used for that purpose, all the quantities had been seized and the factory had been shut down, the owner was summoned  for investigation and taking legal procedures against him.
 
MCI carried out control rounds on factories located south of Jeddah, and raided the involved factory and seized more than 4,000 various expired foodstuffs.
 
This comes as a continuation of the intensive inspection campaigns carried out by the Ministry on factories, warehouses and shops in all regions of the Kingdom, to ensure the quality of the stored materials  and those offered for sale , and to ensure the absence of any violation that may affect the health and safety of the consumer.
 
MCI emphasizes that it will continue the Control rounds on markets, food warehouses, shops, and all commercial institutions, to ensure their regular work, and the absence of fraud practices and manipulation on consumers, and to stop exploiting the demand for purchase in selling and marketing corrupted and expired products.
 
MCI also stresses that it will not tolerate with the violators and those involved in the practice of fraud and counterfeiting, and all that put the health and safety of consumers at risk.
