That Came after MCI Inspection Rounds on more than 25 plants in Riyadh
MCI had shut down five industrial plants in Riyadh after detecting some violations in the production lines, due to non-compliance with the required regulations and conditions, including starting the actual production and sales without obtaining the final licenses from the Ministry, as well as using anonymous chemicals, also the presence of medical claims against some products.
MCI inspection teams also seized some unlicensed foodstuffs, and they monitored poor organization of some plants, and some plants were not committed to the commercial data.
MCI Commission for Considering the Industrial Violations imposed the administrative penalties against the offending plants, depending on the type and nature of the violation. The Ministry aims to activate the supervisory and control roles on the industrial sector and to improve the industrial environment in the Kingdom.
That came after MCI inspectors had carried out inspection rounds on more than 25 industrial plants in Riyadh, producing plastic pipes, paints, perfumes, cosmetics and chemicals, in addition to unlicensed foodstuffs plant. Those responsible were summoned by MCI for investigation and taking the legal procedures against them.
MCI would like to emphasize that it will continue its inspection and control rounds on all the commercial and industrial institutions, to verify their regular works, and to ensure the absence of fraud and manipulation practices on consumers, and to prevent exploiting the demand for purchase in selling and marketing corrupted or expired products.
MCI also stresses that it will not tolerate in imposing the legal penalties on violators and those involved in the practice of fraud, and all that put the health and safety of consumers at risk.
