The Ministry of Commerce seized an unlicensed factory producing gold items bearing counterfeit trademarks, confiscating over 9.2 kilograms of gold jewelry in violation of the Precious Metals and Gemstones Law.
In cooperation with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, inspection teams raided the factory located in the Industrial District in south Riyadh. They seized 1,368 gold pieces weighing 9,258 grams, all stamped with unregistered or forged trademarks. The market value of the seized items is estimated at over 3.7 million SAR.
The owner of the violating factory was referred to the relevant authorities to complete the legal procedures in accordance with the Precious Metals and Gemstones Law and the Trademark Law.
