MCI Carried out Seven Thousand Inspection Tours and Detected 798 Violations during the National Campaign "A Homeland without Illegal Expat"

The Ministry of Commerce and Investment participated in the Comprehensive National Campaign "A Homeland without Illegal Expat". Aiming at tracking and controlling illegal expats and those violating the residence, labor and border security systems, as well as to verify the regular work of the commercial Establishments, also to detect those who violate and go against the Rules & Regulations related to Anti-Commercial Fraud Law and Anti-Commercial Concealment Law. Therefore, MCI had carried 7021 inspection tours on the commercial establishments in different parts of the Kingdom, resulted in detecting 798 violations.
 
MCI inspectors, participating in the aforementioned campaign, monitor the violators and offenders of the Anti-Commercial Fraud and Concealment Laws, as well as those practicing business without a license or CR. After that the violators are summoned by MCI to hear their statements and then to be referred to the Public Prosecution for taking the necessary legal procedures against them, where those violating the residence and labor regulation are referred to the security authorities.
 
MCI warns all investors at all trade sectors not to employ any illegal expats in any way, and they should check the expats documents and ensure that they do not violate the residence and labor regulations, besides not giving shelter or cover-up to the illegal expats, also not to allow the expatriate to work for his own account.
 
MCI stresses that all the government authorities participating in the National Campaign "A Homeland without Illegal Expat" will not hesitate in imposing stern measures against the commercial establishments, which recruit or employ illegal expats or those who violate the residence, labor and border security regulations. All those found guilty of employing, transporting or giving shelter to illegal expats will be liable to stern measures and punishment.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, together with 19 government authorities, are participating in the implementation of the said National Campaign. This is after the dead line given by the Ministry of Interior, which urged the illegal expats to leave the Kingdom by themselves without any fee or charges, and that they may return to work in the Kingdom through the regular and official ways.
