The Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce in Riyadh, organized today, Monday, 12/5/1447 AH, corresponding to 3/11/2025 AD, two workshops. The first was titled “New Updates in the Precious Metals Regulations,” and the second was an introductory workshop on Combating Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing, and the Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons in the Precious Metals and Gemstones Sector.”
The two workshops aim to raise and enhance traders’ awareness of the requirements and obligations related to combating money laundering, terrorism financing, and the financing of weapons proliferation, as well as to highlight the main additions contained in the new Precious Metals and Gemstones Regulations. The Ministry clarified the types of precious metals and gemstones and the controls governing their trading.
The workshops were attended by establishments and companies engaged in the precious metals and gemstones activity in the Riyadh region, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to raise and increase traders’ awareness of the topics and developments that arise regarding laws and regulations, and to achieve the highest level of compliance with the relevant requirements.
