His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qassabi, issued a decree appointing Engr. Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Rasheed as Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises.
Engr. Al-Rasheed has recently occupied the position of the Chief Executive Officer of Riyadh Airports Company, which is in charge of the management and operation of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. He led the transformation process of the privatization program for the air transport sector, as well as all services, works, assets and properties in the airport, also he led the digital transformation program at King Khalid International Airport for boosting the services, maximizing the returns and improving the level of services provided to travelers.
Engr. Al-Rasheed took over the management of the Saudi Organization for Industrial Estates and Technology Zones (MODON). He supervised the management and launching of several initiatives and projects to support the Small and Medium Enterprises in the industrial sector. The most important of which were launching the Finished Factories Product, Cities Oases, as well as setting up the industrial incubators
Engr. Al-Rashid also took over the supervision on the development and operation of the industrial cities whose value exceeded 15 billion riyals, which resulted in the establishment and development of more than 35 industrial cities in all regions of the Kingdom with a total area of industrial and developed land exceeded 180 million square meters.
Engr. Al-Rasheed holds Master Degree in Business Administration from IMD Institute in Switzerland, also BA in Computer Science and Information Technology from King Saud University, as well as Advanced Leadership Degrees from IMD, MIT, HARVARD.
It is worth mentioning that Engr. Al-Rasheed has current and previous board membership including: Board of Directors of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Board of Directors of Al-Maqar Company for the Development of Madinah, Board of Directors of the Saudi Co. for Aviation Information Systems SAVIT, Board of Directors of the Saudi Commission for Industrial Estates and Technology Zones, Board of Directors of Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu , Board of Directors of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, Board of Directors of the General Corporation of Railways, Board of Directors of the Job Generation Authority, Board of Directors of Electricity and Dual Production Authority.
