The Ministry of Commerce Carries out Inspection Tours to Verify the Commitment of the Commercial Establishments with the Precautionary Measures relevant to Combating Covid-19

In cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce carries out inspection tours on commercial establishments in all regions of the Kingdom to ensure their commitment to the precautionary measures relevant to combating Covid-19.

These inspection tours aim to verify how far the commercial establishments apply and adhere to the precautionary measures, also to detect any violations in that regard.

The health precautions that will be verified in the commercial establishments include: Taking the temperature of employees and customers at the gates and entrances of malls and commercial centers, also ensuring that those who are not committed to wearing cotton or cloth masks will not be allowed to enter, as well as to ensure the availability of disinfectants and sterilizers at the proper places, ensuring as well the disinfection of the shopping trolleys after use, more over disinfecting the facilities and surfaces, also closing the children's playing areas and the rooms used for trying clothes. 

Notably, the penalty for violating the precautionary procedures may reach to ten thousand riyals, and in case of repeating the violation for the first time, the penalty will be doubled and the facility to be closed for three months, and in the event of repeating the violation for the second time, the penalty to be doubled with the closure of the facility for six months, and the owners of the violating establishments to be referred to the Public Prosecution.
