MC Field control and inspection teams carry out intensive inspection tours on the markets and outlets selling desktop and tablet computers in all regions of the Kingdom.
The tours include stores that sell desktop and laptop computers, electronic devices, also the agents and distributors of computers and electronic devices, in addition to all outlets that offer and market computers and electronic devices in all regions of the Kingdom.
The inspection tours aim to ensure that all stores adhere to consumer protection regulations, also to control the violating establishments, and to impose the legal penalties on the violators.
These inspection tours coincide with the start of the distance learning by schools during the current year, which witnesses a great interest by consumers to buy computers and electronic devices.
Meanwhile, MC inspection teams are doing their best to control any violations, fraud, counterfeiting, exaggeration in prices and manipulation relevant to offers and discounts, in addition to verifying the invoices and commercial data of the products. All that to ensure and preserve the rights of consumers.
Notably, the regulations of the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law stipulate imposing legal penalties of up to three-year imprisonment and a fine of up to one million riyals or both, besides defamation by publishing the verdict in two local newspapers at the expense of the violator, also deporting the illegal expats from the Kingdom and preventing the owner of practicing the same commercial activity.
