The Ministry of Commerce defames the owner of a fuel station in Al-Khobar governorate, after a court ruling convicted him of violating the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law. It has been proved that the gas station is involved in fraud by selling fuel that does not comply with the standard specifications.
Therefore, the Ministry obliged the owner of the gas station to repair the damaged vehicles at his expense.
The Ministry published a summary of the judicial ruling issued by the Criminal Court in Dammam, including a fine of 30,000 riyals, closing the station for a period of three months, and defamation by publishing the verdict in two local newspapers at the expense of the violator.
The Ministry of Commerce confirms monitoring and following up the commitment of fuel stations in all regions of the Kingdom to protect consumers, and to control any violations relevant to the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, also to impose the legal penalties. Since the regulations stipulate imposing penalties that reach to three-year imprisonment, a fine of up to one million riyals, or both, besides defamation in two local newspapers at the expense of the violator, as well as deporting the illegal expats from the Kingdom, in addition to preventing the owner from practicing the same trade activity.
